sarah has been busy making us some new office curtains. the sun was pouring in and making it difficult to see the computer screen so she created these to help the situation with linens we had already printed with lisa stickley pattern...

making a patched cushion...

we thought we would share a few pages of  'made at home' book to give you instructions on how to make a patched cushion.

we can recommend going to goldhawk road (shepherds bush) to search for wonderful fabrics. berwick street in soho (london) is also very good for fabric shopping. we love the cloth house http://www.clothhouse.com/ .

if you are looking for a haberdashery we recommend barnett and lawson http://www.bltrimmings.com/ for a wonderful array of ribbons, trims, buttons etc. there is a minimum £5 spend but it's not hard to meet that.

we would love to hear of places you recommend around the world as we know not everyone can get to london.

Drink, Shop & Do

Most of us here at Lisa Stickley are creative types as you would expect, we all have other things going on in our out of office hours. I work 3 days here in the office and the other days I create craft packs and teach craft at various venues. This weekend I was at Drink, Shop & Do in London’s Kings Cross. I taught a lovely Hen party to make fascinators. If you like to make pretty things whilst drinking gorgeous cocktails, Drink, Shop & Do is the place for you.


They do afternoon tea, a mouth watering selection of handmade cakes and the best scotch eggs I have ever had! With a runny centre! Most evenings there have something going on from knitting, dot-the-dot, scrabble to cake decorating. 


There is always something for everyone, even if you just rock up and make the most of their extensive board game selection. The shop at the front is a decadent sweet shop come curiosity shop, with beautiful handmade finds and craft materials on sale. All the furniture in the cafe is for sale and all the artwork that decorates the walls. We here in the office highly recommend a visit.

jen's trip to west wittering...

west wittering

this weekend i took a trip in a VW campervan to west wittering (west sussex) as it's somewhere i'd never been and always wanted to go.

the beautiful beaches of west wittering- we were so lucky with the weather and took lovely long walks along the beach. it's a real treat to get out of the city and enjoy some wonderful fresh air.

the tide was right out and there what lots of kite surfers making the most of the windy day.

the next day on the way back we popped into arundel and had a wander around. we popped into one of the lisa stickley stockists SPARKS YARD http://www.sparksyard.com/ 

we then went for a roast at the black rabbit just down the road... http://theblackrabbitarundel.co.uk/

this was the view whilst we ate- it was totally beautiful and serene and just what you need on a sunday afternoon. not long after the heavens opened and it was time to head home.

'top drawer' trade show september 2011

over the last three days the lisa stickley brand was exhibiting at top drawer in beautiful kensington olympia. the brand had its best show to date seeing a great increase in new stockists ordering the brand for their lovely shops worldwide and lots of current satisfied stockists returning for the new collection, so much so, on the first day of the show we did not stop for lunch or a break until 5.00pm.  

the new autumn winter collection was very well received with some clear style winners standing out such as the Bess weekender, the Grace handbag and the new and improved Ivy vanity bag. 

the last day was particularly busy and we had a very smooth pack up. everything back to the office the next day and now time to write up all the orders. thanks so much to everyone that came to see us. see you next time.

printing cushions for john lewis....

this was a big job for a small studio... martha was busy for day's printing all the fronts and cutting out the vintage fabric backs before wonderful kangan sewed them all up. it was then all hands on deck to press, stuff and label before sending them off to john lewis. they are available in stores now.
